Last Sunday the third intern, Rudy, arrived here. We were able to start getting him up to speed on the way the program is working and get to the store to get our food with him without having to go too late.
After this week w're officially half way through our time in South Africa. This week I really started getting into my projects, working on a report on the brewery's compliance with company policies, my calculations for the potential upgrade to the CHP plant, and doing the prep work for the repair of a heat exchanger in the boiler room. I've also been shadowing Myron around the plant has he takes care of various problems around the plant. So I'm getting a lot of great industry experience between the work I'm doing and getting to watch the more advanced stuff Myron does.
This Saturday we went to the Pretoria National Botanical Garden and walked around, getting to see the waterfall and the various gardens. We had a bunch of fun walking around and seeing all the flora and fauna around the park, and to walk along some of the hiking trails. We also attended another market, though we couldn't get much since by the time we made it to the market most of the stalls were closing down.

For lunch we went to this american diner called Mustang Sally's because we had heard that they had insane milkshakes and big burgers. There was a big line to get in, but we didn't have any back up plans for lunch so we waited it out. I ordered a burger with avocado and a jalapeno popper on top and a creme brulee milkshake. The burger was alright, but a little overdone, and the milkshake was pretty crazy, the milkshake came in a mason jar mug with a donut and ice cream on top.
